The Official Earth Day Flag

Earth Day was first established with the help of the United Nations in 1969. And the first Earth Day event took place in New York City on April 22nd 1970. This year marks the 45th anniversary of this great holiday.  Earth Day is a multi-national event celebrated in over 192 countries.

You can find events for the 45th Earth Day on a handy search engine provided by Earthday.org. All you must do is enter your ZIP code. You can find their database below

The City of Los Angeles is looking very intently at its sustainability practices; especially as the State of California is in the 4th year of an intense drought. Mayor Eric Garceti has teamed up with several city departments to launch a campaign called “SaveTheDrop.” This campaign is focused on informing people, through a plethora of media outlets, about the reality of our drought and what they can do to help California through this difficult time. More information about “SaveTheDrop” can be reached at http://www.savethedropla.org/
