Snapshot of the Drought across the State

The drought in California is one of the worst in the history of the State. There are many who hear of the drought but have not seen the impact of it. Above is an image taken of Lake Folsom. According to The California Data Exchange Center, the lake has receded to 39% of its total compacity, 24% below its historical average. There are other locations in California that display the severity of this drought. Websites, including weather.com, have made it easy to see these locations and gain understanding of the tough conditions California is in.

Below is an excellent summary of California’s and Nevada’s drought conditions provided by CNAP (California Nevada Climate Applications Program)
